Fluids are essential to life. Be it air or water, cells and organisms at various length scales must interact with and manipulate the fluid environment for survival. In Kanso’s Bioinspired Motion Lab, we study the flow physics of living systems. We combine mathematical modeling with experimental data to gain novel insight into how nature exploits, and at the same time is constrained by, physics.
